Located on East Coast of India, Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) is an ‘All weather – Deep Draft’ port in state of Odisha. The port is built on a Build, Own, Operate, Share and Transfer (BOOST) model under a concession awarded by the Government of Odisha.
With annual cargo handling capacity of 25 MT, Gopalpur Port is strategically located between two major ports along Indian east coast (Paradip Port & Vizag Port). Gopalpur Port caters to vast mineral and industrial belt in the hinterland spread across Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
Gopalpur Port provides excellent Rail and Road Connectivity with the hinterland. Connected to Howrah – Chennai Trunk Line, Gopalpur Port provides seamless rail connectivity to several key manufacturing and industrial hubs in the hinterland. Located at 6 KMs from the port, Chatrapur is nearest station from Gopalpur Port. Furthermore, Gopalpur Port is connected to NH16 (previously NH5), a part of Golden Quadrilateral, through NH516.
Gopalpur Port provides the requisite marine infrastructure to handle cape vessels upto a draft of 14.5 Meters. Furthermore, the port provides open and closed storage space to store about 2.5 MT of cargo, spread across a vide cargo mix and clientele. On railyard side, Gopalpur Port has Six operational sidings for efficient and seamless handling of multiple cargoes.
